The 600,000 square meters of parkland at Parco Giardino Sigurtà, winner of the 2013 “Most Beautiful Park in Italy” title, are once again open to visitors who wish to spend time surrounded by plants, flowers, and historical buildings. Situated in the municipality of Valeggio sul Mincio, the park is Verona’s naturalistic lung. The 2024 season will officially start on March 8, International Women’s Day. Women will be admitted free of charge at the opening, while men who come with them will receive a discount of 14 euros rather than 18.

Thus, the season at Sigurtà Garden Park reopens and runs through Sunday, November 10. You should also mark Thursday, March 7, on your calendar for an amazing preview opening of the garden that is only available to subscribers. On the other hand, the park will be free to enter for Valeggio sul Mincio residents on Saturday, March 9, when it will be open to everybody. As we await the much-anticipated Tulipanomania, when more than a million bulbs will appear in the second half of March and color the park until the end of April, the first tulips may also be seen in the early days of the opening.

Apart from its globally recognized Tulipanomania, the park is renowned for its rotating variety of seasonal plants, such as water lilies, dahlias, and hundreds of roses on the renowned Viale delle Rose (Avenue of Roses). More, the season’s activities and projects are framed by the region’s woodlands, which are home to magnificent old trees, 18 bodies of water, historic structures like the Castelletto or the Eremo, and stunning panoramas. Must-see attractions include the Giardini Acquatici (Water Gardens), one of the world’s best breathtaking labyrinths, and the Tappeto Erboso (Great Turf), a wide green space popular with tourists and regularly used as a background for television shows, documentaries, and music videos.
