(by Gary Marcus Judge) The entire Made in Italy of wine and more than 30 nations will be at the 56th edition of Vinitaly (English site HERE), scheduled at the Verona Exhibition Centre from 14-17 April 2024. The exhibition centre covering over 180 thousand square metres is ready to become the international agora of the wine business for 4.000 wineries already confirmed. It also continues the process of qualitative selection of operators started last year with an extraordinary recruiting programme that brought 29.600 international players from 143 nations to Verona (out of a total of 93 thousand attendees), including more than one thousand top buyers selected and hosted by VeronaFiere and Ice-Agency.

Vinitaly 2024 will also be flanked by the 28th edition of Sol, International Olive Oil Trade Show (area C); Xcellent Beers (area C) and the 25th Enolitech, International Exhibition of Wine, Oil and Beer Production Technologies (hall F).

Vinitaly and the City confirm the off-show for enthusiasts and wine lovers scheduled in the centre of Verona – a Unesco heritage site – from 12-15 April 2024. Over 45 thousand tastings by wine lovers in 2023.

13th Vinitaly Opera Wine (Saturday 13 April). 131 producers were selected by Wine Spectator and Veronafiere for the 13th edition of Vinitaly Operawine, the premiere event of the international exhibition that every year shines the spotlight on the ambassadors and iconic labels of Italian wine in the States. With 33 producers represented, Tuscany is once again the leading region.

  • Organic Hall (area C), exhibition dedicated to certified organic wine produced in Italy and abroad
  • International Wine Hall (tensile structure D), the pavilion of international producer countries choosing Vinitaly as their exhibition showcase starting with companies taking part in the Open Balkan project (Serbia, Albania and Northern Macedonia), France with the Champagne Maison, Georgia, Hungary, Brazil, Armenia, South Africa and Greece.
  • Mixology (1st floor Palaexpo), the section showcasing and expressing the art of cocktails and the mixing of wines, spirits and liqueurs based on new international trends.
  • Micro Mega Wines / Micro size, mega quality (area C). This is the exhibition unit under the banner of “small is beautiful” conceived by wine writer Ian D’Agata for Vinitaly. At the centre of the project are limited edition niche productions.

American magazines are also turning the spotlight on Italian wine, starting with four Wine Spectator workshops at Vinitaly and Wine Enthusiast with Jeff Porter leading “Rifermento Renaissance: Reviving Italian Sparkling Wine”.
