The monument Arena di Verona will play a central role in the 2026 Games, hosting the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics and the opening ceremony of the Paralympics. For this reason, the city’s administration has announced that it is necessary to continue with the restoration and adaptation works without interference, ensuring the safety of workers and visitors while adhering to the planned schedule.

The executive plan stipulates that works inside the Arena di Verona will take place from 1st November to 31st March, with adjustments to the amphitheatre’s opening hours until the end of 2024.

  • Complete closure: From 15th October to 6th December, the Arena will not be open to the public.
  • Reduced opening hours: From 7th to 31st December, the Arena will be open to the public with reduced hours, closing earlier at 3 p.m.

For 2025, the schedule for closures and reduced opening hours will be determined following further assessments.

During the periods when the monument is completely closed, initiatives will be enhanced to allow tourists to still learn about and explore the history and significance of the veronese amphitheatre, whose grandeur and beauty will remain visible from the outside.
