Starting on August 15, ATV will launch a new weekend and holiday bus service designed for pilgrims and trekking enthusiasts visiting the Madonna della Corona Sanctuary. This service will run until mid-September, connecting Spiazzi, the Sanctuary, and Brentino in Valdadige.
The new bus service, Line 477, meets the needs of the numerous pilgrims who walk the beautiful, stepping journey from Brentino to the Sanctuary. The bus will allow guests to return to Brentino without walking the tough descent. Alternatively, tourists can take the bus from Brentino to Spiazzi and then stroll downhill to the Sanctuary.
The 477 bus line will offer five daily departures from Spiazzi, starting at 9:12 AM and ending at 5:05 PM. In the opposite direction, four buses will leave Brentino at 10:15 AM, 11:50 AM, 2:50 PM, and 5:03 PM, with an additional bus at 6:43 PM running only as far as Caprino. All routes will stop in Caprino, enhancing accessibility between Caprino and Spiazzi, which is already served by Line 476.
The ticket for the Spiazzi-Brentino route is in tariff zone 4 and costs €3.90, discounted to €3.70 if paid on board with a credit card. This pilot service was implemented in response to demands from local governments and the Sanctuary’s rector, Mons. Martino Signoretto, who underlined the need to improve transportation to one of Verona’s most popular tourist attractions.
Every year, almost 200,000 people visit the Madonna della Corona Sanctuary, which is positioned on the rock of Monte Baldo with breathtaking views of Valdadige. Many pilgrims begin their trek on foot from Brentino, which has plenty of parking, while others go from other locations around the province to reach Spiazzi and the Sanctuary.
ATV also offers a shuttle service from Spiazzi to the Sanctuary for a more relaxing journey. This shuttle runs daily, with 15-minute intervals on weekends and 30-minute intervals on weekdays, allowing guests to reach the Sanctuary and return to Spiazzi in only a few minutes. During the summer, this well-established service attracts over 15,000 monthly visitors.
