Verona Public Transportation Company, or ATV, is looking for seventy drivers. The Verona-based company has chosen to provide a number of incentives, including a free special license, to anyone who wishes to enter the public transportation industry in light of the labor shortage in this sector. The opportunity is also open to foreign citizens; the only requirement is having completed middle school in Italy or having an equivalent diploma from another country.

A meeting at the Labor Policy Service office (via Macello 5) on Tuesday, February 13, from 3 to 5 p.m., is planned to explain the possibilities.

The appointment in February

The meeting is titled “Lavorare come autista di autobus a Verona: Se non hai le patenti specifiche…ci pensa ATV!” (“Working as a bus driver in Verona – If you don’t have specific licenses…ATV takes care of it!”). It will be dedicated to showing the professional figure of the bus driver, the free training methods for obtaining professional licenses (which necessitate a minimum age of 21), the company’s benefits, and the multitude of job opportunities available to those who already have the required licenses.

Adults and young people who enjoy driving or who have prior experience in the transportation industry are invited, as is everyone who feels drawn to a career that involves interacting with people and is significant to society.

During the meeting, the company will talk about the training courses and the following calls for applications, as well as the benefits. For example, young people under 29 and people with no age limit who are beneficiaries of Naspi, can enter the job with a professionalizing apprenticeship contract capable of approaching step by step, with practical and theoretical training, the skills required for the exercise of the profession.

“About 180 thousand users are served by Atv’s vehicles on 4800 daily trips,” says Stefano Zaninelli, Atv’s general manager. Recruiting additional personnel is required to guarantee a consistently effective service that can serve the entire region. Thanks to the new corporate integrative contract, the bus driver’s professional image is enhanced by a steady work contract, flexible hours, and a pay that is undoubtedly appealing to young people and others.”
