Verona turns green for St. Patrick’s Day. The next weekend will be spent celebrating Irish cuisine, traditional dances, live music, and, of course, Guinness and Kilkenny beer. Many festivities will take place at the Mercato Coperto di Campagna Amica in Verona’s historic Filippini neighborhood in honor of Ireland’s patron saint on March 17.

It begins on Friday at 9:30 p.m. with a traditional dance performance, followed by two evenings of Irish-themed music. On Saturday at 9:30 p.m., the Campagna Amica market will be alive with Trì, and on Sunday at 6:30 p.m., the big finale for Patron’s Day will be with the energy of the Patricks.

However, there will be no shortage of culinary activities scheduled on the terrace overlooking the Adige River. Brunch will be served on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m., made using Veronese raw materials in a beautiful blend of Irish cuisine and Italian products. There will be eggs, bacon, sausages, cabbage, vegetables, Monte Veronese cheese, burger meat, and veggie burgers.

On Saturday, March 16, there will be a sporting event beginning at 3:15 p.m., with the famous worldwide Rugby Six Nations competition. Returning to the music theme, a conference will be held on Sunday afternoon to honor two beloved and late international music icons, Sinead O’Connor and Shane MacGowan. For little ones, the Verona Canoe Club is organizing a treasure hunt to discover the Filippi neighborhood on Sunday.
