The 46th edition of the Marcia del Giocattolo (Toys March) is scheduled for Sunday 3 December, starting from Piazza Bra. The event, organised by Straverona, aims to support Abeo (Associazione bambino emopatico oncologico- Haemopathic Oncology Child Association). The entire net proceeds of the event will in fact go to the onlus committed to supporting families of children suffering from cancer and leukaemia, being treated in the paediatric oncohaematology department of Verona’s main hospital (Borgo Trento). In particular, the funds will be used to build four mini-apartments within the hospital to accommodate young transplant patients together with their families.

The Toys March consists of three different races. The first is a 10-kilometre race starting at 9 a.m. from the city centre, then proceeding towards Ponte Catena and the San Zeno district, and returning via Via Valverde. The second is a recreational-motor race that can be run at a free pace, offered in a double variant of 5 and 10 kilometres starting at 9:05 am. Finally, there is a 2-kilometre route designed for families with school-age children, with entertainment points along the route and in Piazza Bra starting at 10 a.m. Both routes are free of architectural barriers and can also be walked with pushchairs.

In Piazza Bra, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will also be entertainment activities for children, with handicraft and music workshops, and games, such as the pillow fight or the giant fun parachute. Along the route of the March, the elves will also be handing out candy and stamps for the little letters, while for children aged between 2 and 4, a decanting workshop is planned in a dedicated corner. All these activities are also planned in the event of bad weather. And at the end of the march, all participants are invited to Piazza Bra for refreshments and a moment of musical sharing with songs for peace.
