A reshuffled Verona took to the pitch in Cremona, starting with the goalkeeper. Zanetti preferred Perilli to the rather lacklustre Montipò. To secure the 3 points, vital in the relegation battle, he fielded the Orban-Saar-Giovane trio. In defence, Slotsager and Ebosse played alongside Nelsson in the centre. Throughout the first half, Hellas tried to take the lead, but without success. The match ended goalless: 0-0. Only a fine shot by Giovane forced the opposing goalkeeper to concede a corner. On the other side, nothing of note occurred.

Verona battered but improved

There was great balance against a team with an impressive 22 points, perhaps inexplicably given their performances. In the second half, the Gialloblu did everything possible to take all three points, coming close twice with Giovane. However, the Rosso-Grigi goalkeeper forced Hellas to settle for a single point, which keeps them in a useful position in the table, but no longer alone, now accompanied by Pisa, also on 14 points, with Lecce and Fiorentina on 17.

A draw is always better than a defeat, of course. And nothing is lost yet, as three points can be earned in a single match. However, the team needs to settle down, especially in terms of concentration.

Now, the future still lies in the transfer market, and therefore in the hands of Sean Sogliano, who is one of the best sporting directors in Italian football. That is the most hopeful aspect.
